Capuchin poor

As Capuchin Poor Clares we are called, with all the people of God, to the fullness of the Christian life and so we consecrate ourselves totally to God who is supremely loved. The summation of our life is: “To observe the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, living in obedience, without anything of our own and in chastity” (Rule of St. Clare). Our Mother Clare expresses this form of life beautifully in a letter to St. Agnes of Prague:

What a great and laudable exchange:
to leave the things of time for those of eternity,
to choose the things of heaven for the goods of earth,
to receive the hundred-fold in place of one,
and to possess a blessed and eternal life.
